QUEZON CITY - More than 12 local indie music bands and artists will be performing at an online benefit concert on Saturday to raise funds for urban poor communities affected by Typhoon Ulysses.
Organized by Stand With The Poor network, the 12.12 Add to Heart benefit gig will be streamed at the official Save San Roque Alliance Facebook page at 5PM on December 12 for free. Proceeds of the said online concert will go to typhoon-affected communities from Quezon City and Montalban, Rizal.
Among the lineup are indie bands Oh! Flamingo, The Ridleys, Over October, Carousel Casualties, and Better Days. Joining them are solo artists Alyana Cabral of Ourselves the Elves, Jarlo Bâse, Jay Real of Saving Sunday, Juan Miguel Severo, Shirebound and Busking, and Reese Lansangan. Sining ng Kabataang Lumalaban (SIKLABAN), composed of urban poor youths from Sitio San Roque, will also be performing.
The live benefit show will also launch ZINEbang Gabi where a digital zine will be sold to provide Noche Buena packages to the families at Sitio San Roque, Quezon City. The holiday-themed digital zine will feature works from malayo pa ang umaga, mothcqmart, Apol Sta. Maria, Joanne Cesario, Tristan Yuvienco, Rob Cham, Meryl Ang, and many more.
Stand With The Poor is composed of Save San Roque Alliance, KADAMAY, SIKAD, Pinagkaisang Lakas ng Mamamayan, Urban Poor Resource Center of the Philippines, and the Vegan Neighbors.
